MAYVILLE, N.Y.: -- Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel recently announced the County has a limited supply of face shields available for free to licensed hair stylists and barbers in Chautauqua County.
Last week, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo provided guidance to barbershops and hair salons that will be able to open with limited services during Phase 2 of Reopening. This guidance requires that barbershop and hair salon employees wear a face covering and face shield at all times while performing hair services.
“Our Chautauqua County Office of Emergency Services has a limited supply of face shields and we hope this will help barbershops and hair salon owners meet the new guidelines so they are ready to reopen as soon as Chautauqua County enters Phase 2,” said Wendel.
Hair stylists and barbers can request the face shields by visiting the Chautauqua County Office of Emergency Services website at www.chautcofire.org and completing the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) fillable request form. Hair stylists should ensure the name on the PPE request form matches the name on their state license.
Hair stylists in the City of Jamestown may also contact the City of Jamestown Mayor’s Office at (716) 483-7600, who will submit their information to the county for them.
