Chautauqua County Youth Bureau Announces Availability of Positive Youth Development Funds for 2025–2026 Program Year

MAYVILLE, N.Y. — The Chautauqua County Youth Bureau is pleased to announce the availability of Youth Development Program (YDP) funding for the program term of October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026.

Annual Owen J. Miller “Buddy Walk” Returns to Ripley on May 31

RIPLEY, N.Y. – The Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County is proud to support the annual Owen J. Miller Walk/Run, taking place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Ripley Central School (Ross Street Entrance).
Jamestown Woman Sentenced to 7 Years in State Prison for Meth Trafficking Following Joint Task Force Investigation
District Attorney Jason L. Schmidt announces that Lisa Tibbetts, age 48, of Jamestown was convicted of two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, both “B” felonies and was sentenced May 12, 2025 by Judge David Foley to a determinate state prison sentence of seven years with two years of post-release supervision. Ms. Tibbetts plead guilty to these charges on February 25, 2025. The pled and sentence was the result of a lengthy investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine by Ms.
Demolition Begins on Former Silver Creek High School Property

The long-awaited demolition work at the former Silver Creek High School at 60 Main St. in Silver Creek began Wednesday morning, May 7.
