MAYVILLE, NY – The Chautauqua County Office for Aging Services (CCOFAS) is pleased to announce the distribution of free National Fuel weatherization kits, designed to help Western New Yorkers save money on heating bills this winter.
With the colder months already upon us, these kits are an excellent resource for residents to prepare for the challenges of winter weather.
Each weatherization kit contains:
- Window insulation shrink film
- A heat and air deflector
- Vinyl foam weatherseal
- Electric outlet sealers
“We’re thrilled to partner with National Fuel to bring these valuable weatherization kits to the community,” said Dana Corwin, Interim Director of the Chautauqua County Office for Aging Services. “Staying warm and reducing heating costs is critical during the winter months, and these kits provide an easy and effective way to achieve both. While we’ve already experienced a taste of winter weather, more is undoubtedly on the way, and we encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity.”
The Office for Aging Services has a total of 400 kits available, which will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the following locations:
- Mayville: 7 N. Erie St., Hall R. Clothier Building, Mayville, NY 14757
- Jamestown: 107 Institute St., Suite 201, Jamestown, NY 14701
- Dunkirk: Dunkirk Senior Center, 45 Cliffstar Court, Dunkirk, NY 14048
Residents are encouraged to collect their kit while supplies last. There is a limit of one kit per household. For questions or additional information, please contact NY Connects at 716-753-4582.
“We are deeply grateful to National Fuel for their generosity and commitment to supporting our community,” added Corwin. “These kits represent a proactive step toward keeping our homes comfortable and safe throughout the harsh winter season.”
The Chautauqua County Office for Aging Services remains dedicated to providing essential resources and support to older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers throughout the region. This initiative is another example of how the agency is working to meet the needs of the community.
