DUNKIRK, NY – The Chautauqua County Department of Planning & Development will be hosting a public meeting to discuss the development of the Northern Chautauqua Local Waterfront Revitalization Programs.
A Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) is a locally prepared land and water use plan for a community’s developed, natural, public, and working waterfronts. It provides a comprehensive framework within which a community’s vision for its waterfront can be formalized.
Working in partnership with the Department of State, a community reaches consensus on the future of its waterfront, establishes local policies, and outlines the implementation techniques it will use to achieve its vision. LWRPs are being prepared for the Towns of Dunkirk, Hanover, Pomfret, Portland, Ripley, Sheridan, Westfield, the Villages of Silver Creek and Westfield, and the City of Dunkirk.
The public meeting will be held at 5:00 P.M. on October 17, 2024, at the Dunkirk Fire Murphy Training Grounds. The facility is located at 665 Brigham Road, Dunkirk, NY 14048.
