Submitted by Justin Gould on Wed, 04/10/2024 - 16:00

Jimmy Watts, age 49 of Dunkirk, was sentenced yesterday, April 9th, to a determinate state prison sentenced of 8 years with 5 years of post-release supervision by Judge David Foley after being convicted of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C violent felony. In March 2023, the Dunkirk Police Department responded to a report of an individual waiving a gun and pointing it at patrons of a business on Lakeshore Drive in the City of Dunkirk. In September 2023 Mr. Watts pled guilty to the weapon charge and did not receive a reduction. The District Attorney would like to thank the Dunkirk Police Department for their swift response and hard work on this case. This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Andrew Molitor.
