Violent Felony Weapons Sentencing

Cody Boisvert, age 25 of Jamestown, was sentenced yesterday in Chautauqua County court by Judge David Foley to an determinate state prison sentenced of 3.5 years with 5 years of post-release supervision after being convicted of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C violent felony. In July 2023, officers from the Jamestown Police Department observed Mr. Boisvert to be illegally in possession of a loaded hand gun. He pled guilty to the charge in December 2023.

Mr. Boisvert was also sentenced to an indeterminate state prison sentence of 1 to 3 years after being convicted of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree, a class E felony. These sentences will run concurrently. In August 2023, the NYS Police were contacted for stolen firearms and it was determined that Mr. Boisvert was in possession of them, he pled guilty to the charge in December 2023.

The DA Schmidt would like to thank the Jamestown Police Department and the NYS Police for their hard work on this case. This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Erik Bentley.
