The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department, with other law enforcement leaders, are hosting a breakfast to share with the faith leaders in our community various ways that we can mutually support one another at the Chautauqua Suites in Mayville, NY on August 16, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.
The breakfast is a buffet including scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes, fruit, pastries, coffee and juice – so please come with an empty stomach.
Our primary goal is to develop relationships between law enforcement and the faith community in order to better engage to communities we serve. Often time there appears to be a great divide between law enforcement and the community.
We are hoping that by working alongside one another that we can begin to build better relationships and develop strategies that reduce the amount of tragic incidents we all experience.
Perhaps with all of us working together we can find ways to be more effective in battling the epidemics of drug abuse, mental illness, and hopelessness. We are hopeful that we will be able to develop an advisory committee that has 12 to 15 faith leaders that can meet with law enforcement on a regular basis to discuss concerns.
