There are many safe and effective methods of birth control for people to use. In conformance with applicable Federal and New York State laws and regulations, medical services in the Chautauqua County Jail are implemented by the Public Health Division of the County’s Health Department with the Chief Medical Officer serving as the Responsible Health Authority.
A County Coroner is responsible to respond to the scene of an incident in order to perform preliminary investigation on cause and manner of death. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department dispatches the Coroners. In certain instances, a case may be referred to the Erie County Medical Examiner (ME) for comprehensive medicolegal death investigation services including autopsy and post-mortem toxicology, if applicable.
