Grand Jury Murder Indictment

District Attorney Jason Schmidt announced that 33 year old Darius Kadenhead of Buffalo, New York was indicted by a Grand Jury and arraigned yesterday, July 16th, in Chautauqua County Court on a charge of Murder in the Second Degree arising from the shooting death of Marlon Clay which occurred on January 22nd at the Parkview Apartments in Jamestown. Arson Sentencing

District Attorney Jason Schmidt announced Monday that Aubrey Baize, age 30, of Falconer, was sentenced today, July 15th, in Chautauqua County Court by Judge David W. Foley to an indeterminate state prison sentence of 4 to 12 years after being conviction by a Chautauqua County jury in April 25, 2024 Arson in the Third Degree, a class C felony. In July 2022, the defendant intentionally started a fire in Kennedy, located in the Town of Poland, that consumed two houses and damaged others nearby.

DA’s Office and Jamestown Police Partner for Community Buy Out at Tarp Skunks Game

Assault Conviction Announced

Codie Swartz, age 24, of Jamestown was sentenced Monday , June 17th, by Judge David Foley to a determinate state prison sentence of four years with 3 years of post-release supervision after he was convicted of Assault in the Second Degree, a class D violent felony. On July 30, 2022 a fight broke out at the Wine Cellar in the City of Jamestown where four individuals were injured. Mr. Swartz attacked one of the victims and injured three others that attempted to break up the fight.

Chautauqua County Grand Jury Issues Manslaughter Charges in Death of 16-Month-Old Child

District Attorney Jason Schmidt announced Wednesday that Matthew Nuttall, age 26, of Jamestown, New York, has been charged by a Chautauqua County Grand Jury with Manslaughter in the First and Second Degrees arising from the April 13th death of 16 month old Isaac Benton of Jamestown, New York.  Mr. Nuttall is accused of intentionally throwing Isaac onto a Pack ‘n Play playpen, causing Isaac’s death, while Mr.

Violent Felony Weapons Sentencing

Cody Boisvert, age 25 of Jamestown, was sentenced yesterday in Chautauqua County court by Judge David Foley to an determinate state prison sentenced of 3.5 years with 5 years of post-release supervision after being convicted of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C violent felony. In July 2023, officers from the Jamestown Police Department observed Mr. Boisvert to be illegally in possession of a loaded hand gun. He pled guilty to the charge in December 2023.
