MAYVILLE, NY – Chautauqua County PJ Wendel and Village of Fredonia Mayor Doug Essek issued a statement Thursday announcing a new collaborative efforts to help improve infrastructure related to Fredonia’s Water supply.

“We had a very successful meeting on Wednesday with the Village of Fredonia leaders, the Chautauqua County’s Health Department, and other stakeholders, where we launched a new collaboration to improve aging infrastructure related to Fredonia’s Water supply.

While there is still a lot of work to be done, we are proud to assist the Village in identifying areas of improvement about the local water system. It is important to know that the ultimate and final path forward will be decided by the Village of Fredonia, however, the Chautauqua County Health Department, and other partners, will be available to assist throughout the process offering guidance along the way.

Overall, I feel as County Executive the health and safety of Village residents is of utmost importance and we’re more than willing to assist our local cities, towns and villages in this process.”

“We had a very productive meeting and I look forward to collaborating with the county going forward to improve our water issues and appreciate everyone’s help in this process.”
