Submitted by Justin Gould on Wed, 09/18/2024 - 09:01

District Attorney Jason Schmidt announces that on August 22nd a Chautauqua County Grand Jury indicted Debbie Hires, age 57, and Randall Rolison, age 61, both of Jamestown, on charges of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree.  The indictment alleges that Ms. Hires gave a quantity of methamphetamine to Mr. Rolison during a visit with him while he was housed at the Chautauqua County Jail on March 7, 2024.  A quick response from Corrections Officers at the Jail resulted in the retrieval of the methamphetamine from Mr. Rolison’s person.  The investigation was then conducted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division. This incident occurred days before Mr. Rolison was to be transported to the custody of the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision to begin serving his sentence in state prison on the two fatal motor vehicle accidents he was convicted of in June 2023.

Ms. Hires was arraigned on September 4th by Judge David Foley and pled not guilty. She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled for an Omnibus conference on November 8th. Mr. Rolison was produced from Attica Correctional Facility and arraigned September 9th by Judge David Foley. Mr. Rolison pled not guilty and is scheduled for an Omnibus conference on November 12th. The District Attorney would like to thank the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, with recognition to the Corrections Officers involved in this incident for their diligent supervision and quick response.
