All Legislature Committee meetings as well as the full Legislature meetings are in-person open meetings and will be held in the Legislature Chambers on the third floor of the Gerace Office building.

The meetings are open to the public and subject to any current required COVID-19 guidelines..

Baring any unforeseen technical difficulties, the full legislature meetings will continue to be live streamed on the County YouTube page and the videos will be available for viewing for no less than a year after the meeting. 

The minutes of all legislature committee and full legislature meetings continue to be posted on the legislature web pages.

PUBLIC COMMENTS::  Any comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor..  Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person.

Office of Community Renewal Grant Program Application

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the County Legislature of the County of Chautauqua, New York, will meet in the Legislative Chambers, Gerace Office Building, 3rd Floor, Mayville, New York on July 24, 2024, at 6:35 pm, for the purpose of hearing public comments on the County of Chautauqua’s community development needs, and to discuss the possible submission of one or more Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for the 2024 program year. The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR) and will make available to eligible local governments approximately $100 million for the 2024 program year for housing, economic development, public facilities, public infrastructure, public facilities, microenterprise and community planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefitting low to moderate income persons.  Chautauqua County is applying for $275,000 of CDBG funds to Public Infrastructure, Public Facilities & Community Planning program for Well and Septic improvements for scattered site housing. The hearing will provide further information about the CDBG program and will allow for citizen participation in the development of any proposed grant applications and/or to provide technical assistance to develop alternate proposals. Comments on the CDBG program or proposed project(s) will be received at this time. The hearing is being conducted pursuant to Title 24, Section 570.486 of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.

The Gerace Office Building is accessible to persons with disabilities. If special accommodations are needed for persons with disabilities, those with hearing impairments, or those in need of translation from English, those individuals should contact Jessica Wuerstle, Director of Environmental Health, at 716-753-4763, at least one week in advance of the hearing date to allow for necessary arrangements. Written comments may also be submitted to the Director of Environmental Health, Jessica Wuerstle at Hall R. Clothier Building, 7 North Erie Street, Mayville, NY 14757 until 4:00pm on July 24, 2024.

Notice of Second Public Hearing Re: Implementation of the Chautauqua County 2021 Community Development Block Grant Funding program, “Chautauqua Septic and Wells”

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Chautauqua County Legislature will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 6:40 pm at the Legislative Chambers of the Grace Office Building, 3 North Erie Street, 3rd Floor, in the Village of Mayville, County of Chautauqua, State of New York for the purpose of hearing public comments on the Chautauqua Septics and Wells current Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project: CDBG# 222WS324-21, Chautauqua Septics and Wells, $238,000. The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR), and provides resources to eligible local governments for housing, economic development, public facilities, public infrastructure, and planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefitting low to moderate income persons. The hearing will provide further information about the progress of the ongoing CDBG project. Comments related to the effectiveness of administration of the CDBG project will also be received at this time. The hearing will be conducted pursuant to Title 24, Section 570.486 of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.
