Mandatory Water Use Restrictions For Village Of Sinclairville Water Customers

Submitted by Justin Gould on Sat, 12/21/2024 - 17:34

MAYVILLE, N.Y. - The Village of Sinclairville is asking all residents that use the Village water system to conserve water.

Due to the accident on Route 60, involving a tanker truck hauling gasoline, the Village is shutting down the main water wells that supply the Village until officials can verify that water from those sources has not been contaminated.  The Village has two (2) other wells that will be used to supply customers with water; however, the remaining wells cannot keep up with peak demand.

Please help the community conserve water by limiting water use.  Customers can reduce water use by taking the following actions:

  • Limit washing clothes during this period or use a commercially available laundromat.
  • Use less water for baths and take shorter showers.
  • Use paper plates and disposable silverware to reduce washing dishes.  Only run automatic dishwashers when completely full.
  • Do not let water run when you’re not actively using it, such as while brushing teeth or shaving.

Village officials thank you for your help and cooperation.  For more information, please contact the Village of Sinclairville Water Operator Ryan Edson at (716) 338-8550, the Chautauqua County Health Department at (716) 753-4481 or check the Health Department website at www.HealthyCHQ.com for updates when available.
