MAYVILLE, N.Y.:-- The Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene (CCDMH) collaborated with myStrength, “a health club for your mind,” to bring support to community members of Chautauqua County since 2015. The partnership originally formed to provide services to help clinicians extend care by offering web-based and mobile, self-help resources to clients. As part of their commitment to offer ways to support the mental health and wellness of Chautauqua County residents, the program became available to all, free of charge.

myStrength is a behavioral health solution within Livongo’s integrated chronic condition management platform. Designed to help people improve well-being and enhance sleep, mood, and more, it is accessible to support mental health and wellness 24/7. Within the program, members can personalize their experience while learning how to cultivate mindfulness and resilience to improve overall emotional health. Features available on myStrength include hundreds of wellness resources; self-help tools online health trackers, personalized activities and uplifting daily quotes.

myStrength has recently made updates to improve user experience. The digital platform, optimized to allow access to programming from any device, provides the user a choice between guided or independent exploration. The process of assessment is also more powerful to better tailor content to meet the user’s needs. Users will experience individualized planning and feedback on progression that is more detailed and more specific. Updated depression and anxiety programs have expanded with new content, activities, and media will use the same evidence-based approach: Utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy principles in the familiar sequential series of activities

“Having an evidenced based, quality tool available to our residents as an added layer of support for their mental well- being is invaluable,” said Carmelo Hernandez, Director of Community Mental Hygiene Services. “During times, such as these, where global and local concerns may increase levels of stress and anxiety, it is essential.”
