New Date And Location Announced For Rescheduled Glow Your Mind 5k Run/Walk

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – To close out Suicide Awareness month, the Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County is excited to announce that the Glow Your Mind 5K Run/Walk has a new date and location, Saturday, September 30, 6:01 p.m. at the Jackson Taylor Park, 10th and Washington Street in Jamestown NY. Registration will begin at 5:01 pm.

The original race set for early July was postponed due to safety concerns. The new location will prevent runners from using city streets to run or walk. The new route will keep racers in the park. The start time is one hour before the expected sunset, so participants will have enough time to complete the 5K in daylight. Race day check-in will be available from 5:15 pm. A Glow Party will commence directly following the race.

The Glow Run, a fun, family, and well-attended event, raises awareness of and generates funding for suicide prevention efforts in Chautauqua County to further support outreach, awareness, prevention, and training. To register, visit runsignup.com or visit the Suicide Prevention Alliance Facebook page to find course details and additional information. Online Registration will be open until noon on the day of the event.  All participants that register by September 21 qualify for a FREE Race Event Shirt.

Trackqua will provide this year’s race management. The glow run is a collaboration of the Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County, Chautauqua Tapestry, and Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene. Thank you to our additional sponsors; Media One Group, The Resource Center, Fresh Press Studios, The Sprinkle Cone, and Combat Addiction CHQ.

If you are not interested in walking or running but would like to contribute somehow, we need volunteers for race day support. Please get in touch with Carri Raynor at raynorc@chqgov.com.
