MAYVILLE, NY – Chautauqua County officials will hold a press conference on Friday, February 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. to announce a new safety initiative aimed at helping older adults remain secure in their homes.

County Executive Paul M. Wendel Jr., County Sheriff James Quattrone, Office for Aging Services Director Dana Corwin, Home Care and Caregiver Support Coordinator Michelle Swan, and NY Connects Coordinator Bridgette Paoletta will discuss this innovative program made possible through a partnership between USAging and Ring. The initiative provides 500 free Ring Video Doorbells and Stick-Up Cams to eligible older adults in Chautauqua County, empowering them with technology that enhances security and promotes independent living.

Chautauqua County’s Office for Aging Services is one of only 10 recipients nationwide selected to receive Ring devices through USAging’s national collaboration with Ring. This program builds on successful efforts in other states and aims to provide seniors with greater peace of mind while also supporting caregivers and improving overall community safety. Officials will outline program eligibility, benefits, and how older residents can apply.
